Historical Society Mission Statement
The mission of the Temecula Valley Historical Society is to identify, preserve and promote the historic legacy of the Temecula Valley and to educate the public about is historical significance.

Goal of the Goals and Objectives Committee
To establish a framework in which the Temecula Valley Historical Society may function

Visionary Short-term Goals (Six months):
1.Restore Wolf's tomb
2.Develop a newspaper column
3.Identify historic sites
4.Submit articles to newspapers on local history and sites needing protection

Visionary Long-term Goals (One year or more):
1.Develop a visual identity program, labeling each site with a sign or marker
2.Set up annual heritage celebrations (week or month long)
3.Set up a resource/reference library of the valley's historic sites and events
4.Prepare ongoing local history programs for public and school presentation

Administrative Short-term Goals (Six months):
1.Incorporate (501c3) the Historic Society
2.Host fund raiser/raise $30,000 in our first year
3.Obtain a grant from the City of Temecula
4.Form liaison with the Pechangas, Old Town Association, Temecula Public Library, Temecula Valley Museum, the County of Riverside, City of Murrieta, Lake Elsinore

Administrative Long-term Goals (One year or more):
1.Establish a permanent facility with full-time staff
2.Have a member/advisor on Planning Commission
3.Collaborate with State Historical tourism groups to make Temecula a destination point

Summary
We recommend these goals to guide the Historic Society during the next year, and suggest annual re-evaluation.
